The children each took a different picture to color. They figured out what was happening in the picture and explained it to the class.
Katelynn colored the Last Supper and talked about Jesus teaching the Apostles how to administer the Sacrament. We compared that to Zach's picture of children taking the Sacrament, and discovered that the ordinance is the same.
Lucy colored a picture of the First Vision, and we learned of Joseph Smith's prayer to know which church to join, and the answer from Heavenly Father and Jesus that he should join none of them.
Ian shared his picture of the Sermon on the Mount. He told us that Jesus taught the people in his time, and we come to church to learn his words.
Reed colored a picture of Jesus giving his Apostles the Priesthood so that they could lead his church. We compared that to Byron's picture of a boy being ordained. We also looked at a picture of Peter, James, and John restoring the Melchizedek Priesthood to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. The children loved learning that Jesus' Apostles had come back to the earth to bring the Priesthood to our dispensation.
It was a good change of pace today. The children remembered a lot from previous lessons, enjoyed learning a little more, and let their creativity shine in their coloring. Strangely enough, there are only three more Sundays this year!
