I did not try these or take a picture of them before they went to church for Primary and Sunday School class treats. The students gave them multiple thumbs up, though, as evidenced by the scarce leftovers after our meetings.
Food52 recently published this quick-and-easy cookie bar recipe. It looked like a great way to use up the free dark brown sugar from Wholesome and the not-free partially-used malted milk powder from Amazon. Alas, the quantities required were insufficient to use up either ingredient, but I did empty the chocolate chip container! Clearly, more malted milk and dark brown sugar recipes are in our future. I did not try these or take a picture of them before they went to church for Primary and Sunday School class treats. The students gave them multiple thumbs up, though, as evidenced by the scarce leftovers after our meetings. I deducted about four minutes from the minimum recommended baking time, and used regular butter instead of browned. Otherwise, this recipe was quick and easy, and everyone loved it.

We had ooey gooey brownies with marshmallows on top to eat today! Fortunately, they were not nearly as sticky and messy as Sister Combs had predicted. We reviewed last week's lesson about Abinadi, then learned what Alma did after he ran away and hid from the king. We learned that many people listened to Alma as he taught them about the true Church, and they came to the Waters of Mormon to be baptized. The children loved this picture and thought it looked like a beautiful place to learn about Jesus. We talked about how we can be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost just like the Nephite people did hundreds of years ago. We reviewed what we should do if we make a wrong choice: we should repent. Then we learned about the prophet Enos, who remembered his sins when he was hunting for food. The children were amazed that he prayed for forgiveness all day long and into the night! We learned that Heavenly Father forgave him and promised him great blessings for his faith. We talked about how everyone makes mistakes, but Heavenly Father will forgive us if we truly repent. We played a CTR game to review what we learned today and in previous weeks. Fortunately, the only child who landed on a "Wrong Choice" square thought it was great fun and said, "Wheeeeee!" as he slid down the slide! We ended the class coloring pictures of a temple, since one of the great blessings of being members of the church is that we can go to the temple. We talked about beautiful temples we have visited, and how excited the children will be when they are old enough to go inside.
