My newest friend is dressed up and ready for ballet class! She was much more complicated than the sheepies or bunnies from prior years, but very satisfying. I won several Knitables patterns in a facebook giveaway, so she may have a bunny, panda, or fox friend to share clothes with some day!

This week's MFT card challenge was a very familiar template. I had one sheet of pink-and-blue-striped paper to use up. The white spaces between the stripes seemed a little boring, so I added a little washi tape, and now they are so much more fun! The "Hello" circles came from the matching 12x12 pack. . .bonus points?
One partial sheet of pink polka dots is out of the stash! The silver ink on the letters did not photograph particularly well. . .hopefully it looks better in person. There are two grey die-cut letters under each of the stamped ones to help them stand out.
What does one do with a single sheet of white paper with gold stripes? Find some Spellbinders dies that are the right size to fill in the blanks!
The paper pack of the month had four sheets of Fleur de Lys paper--two in gold and two in midnight blue--so I made four of these cards. The frame is mounted with foam tape and the cake with foam squares, so the contrasting background is recessed a little bit. I think the ones with gold frames are more visually appealing than the ones with navy, but they will all make good birthday or anniversary cards.
Two of these used up the last of the "love" paper (see other cards here and here). The background is from the Lawn Fawn Knit Picky 6x6 pad, a possible future target of the Use It Up campaign. The birds, having been glued together with an excessive amount of scrapbooker's glue (having forgotten, as usual, to use a double-sided adhesive sheet before die cutting), are mounted on the card with foam squares for a little extra depth and interest, as is the little heart.
Inspired by this week's MFT Card Challenge and this month's goal to use up the Gold Glam 6x6 paper pack.
One of my favorite elements of the Balloon Triplets dies used here is the heart cut-out layer of the big balloon, which leaves behind lots of little hearts for future cards! I made two in this design, with the pink and lavender in opposite configurations on the other card. This cake was a combined effort. I baked the numbers on Friday and MOMO decorated them on Saturday. There was batter left over after making the seven (hardly surprising, given its small profile), so we followed the same baking and frosting protocol.
While trying to find the silly Valentine's paper I bought for $2 at Michael's last June, I came across this 6x6 Gold Glam paper, bought on clearance at JoAnn several years ago. Most of my paper stash originated on a clearance display, or one of those Michael's Hot Buy tables on 70% off day (especially when there is an option to stack an additional coupon on top). Most of my paper stash was bought with the best of intentions, because it filled some gaping hole in the collection. This pad, and its 12x12 big brother, are no different, except that they taught me, through sad experience, to stick to only one size of paper pad for any given design, because both sizes is just waaay too much paper for my purposes. This pad is more than halfway gone, so I have formed a bold resolution for January: use up the rest of it! If this works, I may be emboldened to use up a few more paper pads, or at least to resist buying (m)any more in 2020! Here is the first official card of the decluttering scheme. Actually two cards, because both of the "love" script pages were still in the pad. The gold words are really pretty, but I had struggled to find a way to soften the effect of the stark white background. There are vertical and horizontal strips left over for more cards. The original plan was to have three small hearts instead of one, and use it for the MFT card challenge, but the card looked much better this way. It's okay--I never win that contest anyway!
More fun with Michael's bargain paper pads! I made two of each card, because that's how many of each sentiment or image were included. This card is standard A2 size (4.25x5.5"), and is somewhat similar in personality to the previous one. This one is 4.25" square, which means it can fit inside an A2 envelope! The frame was so fancy that it didn't need anything beyond the three-layered "joy", die cut from glorious gold cardstock for the visible layer. The card is much shinier in person! This card is 4.75" square. Again, it was a fancy image, so a few rhinestone stickers and a mat seemed like enough embellishment. I will make a custom envelope for it before next Christmas!
