We started by reviewing what we had learned two weeks before about baptism. Since not all the children had been there last time, and General Conference had happened in the interim, our memories were quite fuzzy. After a thorough refresher course, we learned that not only had Heavenly Father and Jesus been present at Jesus' baptism, but the Holy Ghost was there as well. We learned how he is similar to and different from Heavenly Father and Jesus. The children already knew that he does not have a body, only a spirit, and that we often know the Holy Ghost is present when we have a warm feeling. We learned that he will help us to know what things are true and what choices are right.
We recited the First Article of Faith. Most of the class has this one memorized, and some of them wanted to recite the second as well. When it was time to recite the Fourth Article of Faith, they needed more prompting, but the children at least have a general idea of how it goes. Apparently all the practice in Sharing Time and at home is working.
We talked about being confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints after baptism. The children have all been to baptisms, so were familiar with the process. They are looking forward to when they are eight years old and can be baptized and confirmed! We talked about how they can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost now, even though they are not old enough to be confirmed.
At the end of class, we enjoyed coloring a large group of presents. We loved learning about how the Gift of the Holy Ghost is more important to us than any other gift we could receive!
