We talked about how much we liked receiving presents, and why people give us presents. One of the children mentioned that people gave Jesus presents when he was born. We then talked about the most important present we will ever receive: the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
We talked about who the Holy Ghost is and what he can do for us. The children mentioned that he does not have a body, and that he can tell us what to do. We learned that he can help us to know when things are true and to remember the things that we have been taught, and that he speaks to us with a soft voice or with a feeling in our hearts.
We heard a story about a girl named Jan who was worried about moving to a new city. A few of our classmates shared how they had felt when they moved, and what they remembered and missed about their old homes. Jan prayed to feel better about moving, and the Holy Ghost replaced her anxiety with feelings of peace. We also talked about other situations in which the Holy Ghost can comfort us.
We recited the First Article of Faith. Most of the children already have it memorized!
We finished by coloring pictures of a boy and a girl being confirmed. It was a very chatty, happy sort of Sunday.
