The MFT design team members examined this week's card challenge and saw hillsides and fluffy clouds, but it looked like celestial bodies to me. A few stitched circle dies, some Tim Holtz space dies, and a few self-adhesive rhinestones are the principal components.

This apple spice cake was just what one would expect, which is definitely a good thing. Baking the batter in shaped miniature Bundt pans added an elegant touch, and gave me an excuse to walk down memory lane while admiring our collection.
I left out the walnuts, tweaked the spices a bit, and made up my own glaze instead of the ultra-sweet goo suggested by the author, who is oddly not credited on the Wholesome website. Other than all the fruit-chopping, it was a quick and simple recipe. Very conveniently, I had both cane sugar and dates in the pantry, although a more conventional sugar would have worked well, too. Another time, these would be delicious with whole-wheat flour, rebranded as muffins--they are near the middle of the muffin-cupcake continuum. . .which sounds like a possible future infographic, a close cousin of the cupcake counter. The emoji were everywhere today! They meandered through the garden. . . They romped amid the rainbows. . . They even blasted off into space! Here's hoping that their adventures today will keep them quiet for a while. They're cute, but very high maintenance!
Last week, I die cut a bunch of emoji. Ever since, they have been smiling and winking and laughing reproachfully every time anybody enters the craft room. This morning, one of them found her new home. I stuck a few glue dots to the back of the happy face and sandwiched a paper clip between it and the backing circle. The washi-tape-covered panel is only adhered along three edges to create a pocket, so the recipient can easily detach the happy face bookmark.
I still haven't tried any of the scrapbook layouts from National Scrapbook Day, but here is another card based on a sketch, this time by A Cherry on Top. The sentiment actually came from a set of envelope liner dies, so it also works for the latest Stay Crafty with Hero challenge, "Out of the Box"! The floral background and pink and purple papers were all leftovers from other projects, so it also contributed to my personal goal of actually using up scraps once in a while.
This one turned out surprisingly well, so I might make a whole set of cards using this design at some point. I celebrated this auspicious holiday by commenting on a lot of giveaway posts, knitting for several hours, doing a Zoom yoga class. . .and making one card based on a Doodlebug sketch. I like how the flower looks almost like a sun shining on all the happy little gnomes. Most of the card and scrapbook layout challenges that were published today last for several more days, so there are plenty of ready-made options for next week's papercrafting sessions!
